Cheeky Face painters will come and go but those who are current will always be listed below.  This Profile will eventually be updated and we hope to have a separate page for each painter.

Qulified Painters: (These are the face painters who have enough experience and skill to provide you with the Cheeky face service in the manner we require them to.  Any one of these painters will provide the quality of face painting that we are happy to have represent Cheeky Face.  They have been trained by us but their skill is their own and they have become comfortable with the work they do which is ovious when you see them work).

Probationary Painters: (These painters have recently graduated from the trainee level and we are giving them as much work as we can to extend their level of expertise to the point that they can join the qualified list.  Their work is OK but still needs to be refined to achieve what is commonly known as the "wow" factor. These painters are offered at 5% less than what we charge for qualified painters effective as of March 31st 2008 and depending on availability).

Trainee Painters: (These painters are usually beginners with little to no experience.  Occasionally they will be looking for as much experience as they can get to elevate themselves above the trainee level but most often we'll charge for hiring a trainee.  The current rate for a trainee is available at our prices page.  If you would like a trainee to attend your booking you will have to book at least 1 qualified or probationary painter also.  we never allow trainees to work alone).

A Brief History of Cheeky Face.

The founders of 'Cheeky Face' (Danny & Lorene) have each studied photography,  art & graphic design in the past.  Lorene has studied for a total of 5 years and I (Danny) have also studied for about 5 years.   Due to varying circumstances neither of us saw any of the studies to the end and so we ended up with different jobs to what we wanted and found ourselves working towards a future where we could hopefully include art in our daily activities but never really sure just how we were going to do it.

After the birth of our son Lorandt, we needed to find some way of making money that would allow us to spend time with each other and be able to afford the basics of everyday life.  Lorene picked up her hobby of knitting and crocheting hats for kids making up some lively and funky designs and working out how to create them from scratch.    We have tried to sell the hats via Lorene's website: http://www.littlelorandt.com.au which proved to be more work than we bargained for and very difficult to balance the demand with the supply time-wise...especially with a baby.   Lorene set up an E-bay store and sells her hats from there but we hope to incorporate the hats with the face painting website and sell them from the 'Cheeky face' web site.

At about this time I (Danny) also  tried my hand at something new.  Having never run a business before I started selling movies on DVD via an E-bay store.  This was just for a hobby to begin with and with a moderate level of success it developed into a store with a handful of regular customers and a mailing list of approximately 95 interested people.   The focus for the stock/titles is basically films I have seen that I liked or thought were worthy of being remembered (how do you say...a great film!!) and most of them not available in Australia which made it easier to compete with the big name retailers.  As good as that all may sound  it was not making enough profit to pay a wage and after 2 years of trying, it seems to be only now gaining some momentum with more interest coming from collectors and real lovers of film.  If you want to check it out go to: http://stores.ebay.com.au/valis-splenda-DVD

Our intention was never to become face painters and it wasn't until September 2005  that Lorene was offered the opportunity to work as a face painter for Safeway - I think their regular face painter couldn't make it or something like that.  So Lorene gave it a go and enjoyed it.  When Safeway asked her to do several other store promotions I tagged along and  as they say 'the rest is history'.  We LOVE it!!  Our beginning was in September 2005 and from the very first day we knew this was going to be the rest of our lives.   We have one or two people who are developing their skills as face painters also and we hope to have at least 3 or 4 other painters on call in the future (this was written a while ago and as you will see we have exceeded our expectations).  All our painters have had some prior experience with painting/art.  You can visit each painters personal page (on the links above in this page) for information about each painter (this, we hope to be available soon).

Some of our friends are musicians and may be interested in providing some form of musical entertainment either for kid's parties or for any function you have.  As this is nothing definite yet you are welcome to express your interest in these areas and we will follow it up with the musicians to see if anything can be arranged.

Thanks for your attention.

Regards,

Danny.
