CAN'T AFFORD A PROFESSIONAL FACE PAINTER

FOR YOUR FUNDRAISER OR FETE?

Get some volunteers together and we'll train them with a beginners workshop designed to provide the skills needed to make your fundraiser a success!!

Workshop takes about 4hrs and very informative. Each person will receive an information booklet & some other helpful print outs. Bookings can be one on one or groups of 2 - 10 people.

As an alternative to offering Face Painting for the purpose of fundraising you might consider the possibility of booking places in hourly or half hourly workshops where the kids get to take part in face painting activities leading up to having a small design painted on them by one of our painter/s. Under the right conditions we can manage up to 30 children per class with 2 painters to run the class.

The children will experience fist hand what it's like to be the 'face painter' and they'll get to try a few different things before we allow them to paint on each other. That part is actually optional and we do have as you can see in the above image a dummy head for each child to paint. We are fully insured for this activity and have held a number of these which have generated lots of great feedback so we are offering them broadly now after realizing how much fun the kids have and with the interest shown from proud parents.

We have also provided workshops to parents who have volunteered to paint at their child's school fete. In such cases the school/kindergarten may offer to subsidize the cost of the workshops in return for the time the parents put into it. One workshop can be enough to have you painting $5 faces without feeling guilty for taking the money. Approx. 2 hrs per workshop. You may discover a hidden talent and passion for something you never knew you could do.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
In our experience we have found that when it comes to fundraising it can be difficult for organizers to justify spending the money for a good face painter so the responsibility will usually be given to a local parent with little or no experience OR a cheap face painter will be hired. This can be a fun and cheap way to have a face painter but it can also be disastrous in terms of the quality of face painting which in turn can make a difference as far as getting a good sized crowd goes. That is not to say that a cheaper priced face painter will not be a good face painter but the price does often reflect the level of quality and professionalism so you should always be weary of the cheaper alternative. As professionally conscious Face painters we make sure that our paints are of the best standard available to the industry and we strive to improve the quality of both our service and our faces.

We do not use just any cheap & nasty face paint. We have a large selection of quality make up and brushes used professionally for not only face painting by the best around the world, but also for theatrical purposes including theatre and special effects in film. We are in touch with current changes in the face painting industry as we strive to offer you the best that is available in service and product.

Advertise with the future in mind: We have seen many kids change their mind about having their face painted once they have seen the faces of other kids we've painted or some of the designs in our books. We have experienced the power of 'word of mouth' with kids telling others and bringing more to the queue. If this can happen in a single day then imagine what must happen over a longer period of time.

One of our first such experiences was when we attended a booking that was gained as a result of working for Safeway in Werribee. We were at the store for 6 hours and painted about 60 kids in that time (this was very early on and we are quicker now). One of the parents was a local school teacher and hired us to come to a Halloween party. When we arrived (a few weeks after the Safeway promotion) every child that was there knew who we were and where our website was. Apparently the whole school had heard about the face painting at 'Safeway' by 'Cheeky Face'.

The point of this story is to illustrate that with the right kind of planning you can gain more interest in your Fundraiser / Fete and with a good face painter the word will spread. Use an example of a beautiful face (painted by a professional face painter) in your advertising and you will increase both attention drawn to your advertisement and interest in your event.

You can establish the foundation of the regular presence of a good face painter at your event (annual, bi-annual etc) with the first time the face painter attends then the next Fundraiser will be of more interest when you advertise that "Cheeky Face" (or any Good painter) will be there because the kids will not forget a good face.

We are growing rapidly as a result of the work we do and the service we provide. `Whilst browsing through the gallery please take note that the web pages for each job are created by us and FREE with every booking so this will also be included with any booking for a Fete or Fundraiser. The Free gallery page is pretty much yours to do with as you please, provided it is not used commercially without our consent. You are welcome to link to a gallery page from your site if it helps the profile of your business or Fundraiser but we will need you to send us a link to your site first for verification and approval. About the pricing:
As this is our living we cannot work for less than what we usually charge unless we can come to some kind of agreement that suits both parties. This page is our effort to compromise on pricing and hopefully make our services affordable to Fundraisers from whom we often get enquiries but far too often have left them disappointed with the cost being beyond their budget. You will be required to advertise our website & service in your school's/social club's or other institution's major newsletter at least twice. This might include once leading up to the event and then once again afterwards. Distribution of the newsletter will need to reach at least 300 households.

$30 off : Add our logo and short description to any advertising you have for the fete. example Distribution needs to be a minimum of 3000 if by letter drop. We will provide:
between 6 and 15 full detailed faces per hour with 1 painter.
between 12 and 30 full detailed faces per hour with 2 painters.
(Quantity depending on the designs we make available. If the designs are quicker and simpler - fewer colours and not intricate - then we'll obviously get more done).

We recommend charging between $5 - $15 per face painted - depending on the design - but it's really up to you what you want to charge. In the end whatever you make is yours to keep.

We also recommend you arrange to sell tickets for the face painting so that we do not need to handle cash transactions which will waste time when we could be painting.

People should also be aware of finishing times to avoid disappointment.
